Captain Neal Preston started his sportfishing career on Key Biscayne, Florida in 1984. With over 30 years of experience and 25 years as a Captain; his talents and skills have taken him internationally to places such as the Bahamas, Florida Keys, Cape Cod, Cuba, and Bermuda.
He has over 15 years’ experience fishing in the Hawaiian islands as both captain and mate. Now he is working with Captain Chip Fischer on the Hanamana based out of Honokohau Harbor. Whether it’s giant ahi tuna or blue marlin in excess of 900lbs, Captain Neal has the talent and skills to get on the fish and get them to the boat.
He is an expert in all types of live baiting, dead baiting, lure fishing, bait and switch, and dredge fishing. You would be hard pressed to find someone else with his diverse and extensive portfolio anywhere in the world. He has chosen to fish in Kona, Hawaii because it is a world class venue. He encourages a tag and release philosophy whenever possible. He is deeply committed to promote sportfishing to junior anglers knowing they are the future of the sport.
